Community Engagement after Christendom

Community Engagement after Christendom

By Doug Hynd

Community Engagement after Christendom draws on Biblical scholarship, historical precedents and long experience in the public service and voluntary organisations to propose a new approach to the relationship between church and society.

Dr Doug Hynd, an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, Charles Sturt University, is well-equipped to address this issue at a time in which the churches’ access to political power has been eroded and public confidence in the churches is low. Yet, churches and church agencies continue to work with state and private partners in delivering services for the Australian community.
