What is Happening to Religion in Australia? Understanding the Trends
In What is Happening to Religion in Australia? Understanding the Trends, Hughes analyses the contemporary Australian religious landscape. In eight chapters, he outlines the state of religion in Australia right up to the time of the 2021 Census and then uses carefully explained technical terms like secularisation and differentiation to examine possible causes of the changes that have taken place in recent decades, at the same time locating them within the context of international trends.
Philip Hughes has been researching religious faith in Australia for 40 years, primarily as a senior research officer with the Christian Research Association. He is currently a research fellow with the Christian Research Association, the University of Divinity, and the National Centre for Pastoral Research, as well as Emeritus Professor at Alphacrucis University College. He is married with two adult children and two grandchildren.
